Touring Musicians...California sun - The Seattle Symphony tour of Southern California in April took the musicians to Santa Barbara, Palm Desert, San Diego and Los Angeles (Royce Hall on UCLA campus). Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg performed the Bruch and Barber Violin concertos.
The Spirit of the Musicians - Michael Crusoe, principal tympani and the Chair of the SSOPO (Seattle Symphony Orchestra Players Organization) writes on the advantages of having our own union, giving flexibility to our orchestra and how it allowed us to become one of the most recorded orchestras in the country.
Back in the (Former) USSR - Violinist Gennady Filimonov and his chamber group "odeonquartet" have been invited to perform at the School of Stoliarsky in Odessa, Ukraine. The school is one of the great music schools in the former USSR that train many of the chosen "gifted children".
